Rob Skarin
Founder of Crystal SpotlightMy work involves collaborating with artists, record labels, and management teams to create immersive websites, effective social media strategies, and dynamic music marketing campaigns, primarily in the rock and metal music scenes.
My career began with a fan blog for the band Porcupine Tree called "Stars Die," which led to me being approached by the band's frontman Steven Wilson to build a website for his emerging solo career. This opportunity encouraged me to start my business Crystal Spotlight and branch out and help other artists. Crystal Spotlight now offers cutting-edge websites, e-commerce stores, full-service music marketing consulting and award-winning video production.
Over the years, my role with artists has evolved from website design to active involvement in marketing and management. I have advanced level skills in web design, e-commerce and music marketing, collaborating with major record labels like Sony Music and Universal Music and independents like Snapper Music.
Outside of my work in music, I enjoy traveling, going to gigs, spending time at the pub with friends and following combat sports, especially UFC. I'm also a lifelong Southampton FC supporter and theme park enthusiast!
